Özet

Okuma becerisi, yabancı dil öğretiminde dört dil beceri arasında öğrenicileri akademik çalışmalarda zorlayan becerilerden biri olarak bilinmektedir. Küreselleşen dünyada öğreniciler daha fazla okuryazarlık becerilerine ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Bu bağlamda, yabancı dil öğretiminde okuma becerisine verilen önem giderek artmaktadır. Yabancı dil sınıflarında öğrenicilerin okuma becerilerini istenen düzeye getirebilmek için öğrenicilerin okuma stratejilerini ve modellerini bilmesi çok önemlidir. Bu sebeple, bu çalışmada yabancı dil öğretiminde okuma becerisinin önemi açıklanmış, okuma becerisinde başarılı olmak için öğrenilmesi gereken okuma stratejileri ve okuma modelleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.
